I live on a cattle property with my husband Paul, between the towns of Armidale and Kempsey in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is a very picturesque area, a creek running the entire length, steep hills with patches of rainforest. We run Brahman and Brahman cross cattle so the horses are a necessity for mustering, it is too steep for anything else!
I like to go to shows, both dog and horse but time often makes this difficult. I try to breed quality animals pretty enough for the show ring and also hardy enough for work and the outdoor life. My first registered Paint horse was a 6 month old tobiano filly, Wayouts Image. She remained with me until 2001, at 21 years of age. I do still have her 2 daughters, Wayouts Fantasy and Wayouts Dream Machine. Now it’s a case of deciding which granddaughters I want to keep! At least it is a certainty that any mares bred to our stallion QT Dunupdouble (imp) will be coloured so it’s just a matter of seeing what the pattern is. Dogs have also always been part of my life although I have only been showing and breeding for about 15 years. Quite a number of my Australian Terriers have gained their Australian Championships with one becoming a Finnish Champion at his second show in Finland. Now it’s a matter of trying to keep breeding quality pups that can do well in the show ring and still make great pets. Thanks for visiting, Sharon
